Necessity

Man luxuriates in looming large,
And smothers in the crowded crush of continuation.
Worn down in His gloating glass laws,
Cities suffocate, and live in the blustery blame,
Of necessity...

The struggling gurgle of Man hides in immensity,
Hides from the enormity of artless awe...
Hides in the dark logic of complete hubris,
And turns away Death,
To challenge Time...

Still, the wild azure lid raptures simple sense,
To pay in the mirth of huge humility,
While feet slowly find heart in timeless days,
And souls break anguish with the passion,
That beauty deserves...
