River Rite

Today the sun did not burn,
it smiled and the snow
at my nape melted.

River Blue forgive
the innocent child that levitates

over your summer waters.
Honor him each August,
for it was then he found

tigers swarming the streets.

Today I stepped
out of the dark, walked
into the dreaming sea,
and danced with the wild
wind of the city.
